HISTORIC BUT FANTASTIC Benteng Inong Balee, Lamreh, Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar, NAD, Indonesia If you are a traveler, it is good to take this place on your list. Why ? The answer is… you must read the whole of my review ^^ Recently, I visited Benteng Inong Balee with my friends, this was a place which not only had historic site but also had fantastic and awe beach. This fort constructed by Sultan Ala ad-Din Ri’ayat Syah Sayyid Al-Mukammil (1589-1604) is the centre of defence for the seas of the Malacca straits. Apart from that, this fort was used also as dormitory for the “Inong Balee” militia (widows whose husbands were sacrified through war).   It had six holes to put meriams but now four of the holes are broken.
